RIZON, Daimler Truck’s latest all-electric vehicle brand, has announced the arrival of its first shipment of class 4-5 vehicles in British Columbia, Canada.
The initial shipment marks the first since RIZON’s launch in the Canadian market in April of this year.

This shipment includes the first 12 units from a 22-vehicle order, with the remaining trucks expected in November 2024.
The handover to customers across various sectors is anticipated to commence in January 2025.
Nineteen of these RIZON trucks will be dispatched to customers in British Columbia and Quebec, post-customisation with different bodies such as dry boxes, service bodies, and landscape dumps.
Three units are reserved for demonstration purposes to showcase the versatility and capabilities of the electric fleet.

These trucks are eligible for a C$75,000 ($53,820) incentive under the federal iMHZEV Program, with additional provincial incentives also available to buyers.
RIZON’s four model variants, the e16L, e16M, e18L, and e18M, are designed to cater to a broad range of customer needs with diverse configurations.
The trucks offer gross vehicle weights from 15,995 to 18,850 pounds and driving ranges up to 257km for the L variant and 177km for the M variant on a single charge.
RIZON trucks are designed to be adaptable to various applications, including dry vans, flatbeds, landscape dumps, garbage compactors, and refrigerated units.
They feature an electric power take-off (ePTO) allowing for the operation of specialised equipment such as reefer belt drives and hydraulic pumps directly from the cab.
The RIZON trucks have been outfitted with advanced safety features, including active brake assist and active side guard assist.
These technologies are beneficial in urban areas and in stop-and-go traffic conditions.
Designed to withstand harsh Canadian winters, the trucks feature an electric preconditioning system that optimises battery temperature using grid power before operation.
Additionally, driver comfort is enhanced with heated seats, steering wheels, and windshields, while the vehicles are compatible with both Level 2 AC and DC Fast Charging CCS1 systems.
