According to international product development manager Jim Rickert, the target was set at 3,200 units in a year but 3,091 were sold between October 2003 and March 2004.

Having just launched the roadster in Europe, Rickert expects the model split from May onwards to be 55% in favour of the coupe with automatic transmission accounting for 70% of sales.

For the period January to March 2004, 1,526 Crossfires were sold in international markets with western Europe taking 1,345. Of those, 511 were sold in Germany, 308 in the UK, 125 in France and 124 in Italy.

Rickert would not comment on specific sales targets for the newly-launched roadster or expected volumes for the widened model range.
