Delphi has been awarded two new electric power steering (EPS) programmes with a North American vehicle maker worth more than $US400 million in lifetime revenue.

As usual with such announcements, the supplier won’t name its customer.
Delphi claims EPS can help car drivers save up to 4% on fuel.
“Beyond fuel economy, our EPS system helps improve a vehicle’s drivability through patented features that help enhance the steering system’s response to driver input and the road,” said a spokesman.
Since 1999, Delphi has produced more than 3.5 million EPS systems for a full range of vehicles from compact to midsize. The system is currently fitted to five European and three North American vehicle lines.
