The Turkish News Digest reports that Turkish commercial vehicle maker Karsan Otomotiv has reached an agreement with French Peugeot to produce Long Partner vehicles.

Under the agreement, Karsan will produce the vehicle mainly for the local market and for export to neighbouring countries.
The production of Long Partner will start in 2005 and is expected to increase the total output of Karsan by 5,000 vehicles annually.
The project envisages 4.5 mln euro ($5.7 mln) of investment and the creation of 100 jobs. The company plans to further develop the model by launching a pick-up version.
