Volkswagen is in talks with Tesla to adopt its North American Charging Standard (NACS) technology, Reuters reported.
The charging network division of Volkswagen, Electrify America, has committed to using the system already.
The announcement follows a growing roster of automakers and charging units choosing to adopt the Tesla Supercharger network amidst growing concerns of losing customers if only providing the Combined Charging System (CCS) design.
Ford, GM, Volvo and Rivian are among those that have signed up for Tesla’s network ad design in recent weeks.
According to Reuters, in some of its charging stations, Tesla is also incorporating CCS compatibility.
Approximately 60% of fast chargers in the US are Tesla’s Superchargers according to The US Department of Energy.
