Mattsson Akeri has now bought three heavy electric FH trucks.

“The truck runs 12 hours a day, with a stop for charging when the driver takes a break. Silent, electric operation means a better working environment for the driver,” said CEO Jan-Olof Mattsson.

One of the trucks is being tested in container traffic in the port area of Arendal in Gothenburg.

The FH Electric 6X4 is charged by two 180kW chargers at the operator’s depot in Arendal.

The test is part of a High-Capacity Transport (HCT) project.

HCT means that the vehicle’s length or gross weight can be increased which allows each vehicle to carry a larger load.

The aim for HCT is to facilitate increased safety and to reduce both transport and maintenance costs, environmental impact, and road wear.

In future, the truck will run between Gothenburg and Boras.
