Mark Morris, Managing Director of Metrocab Limited said, “We are concentrating our efforts with our new company Metrocab Limited and we are currently building new Metrocab TTT taxis and appointing a limited number of dealers”.

“Our first new dealership, Birmingham Taxi Warehouse, has undertaken an extensive advertising campaign highlighting that they are our sales outlet for the TTT and they are taking enquiries on a regular basis as we prepare for full production”.

Morris added, “We are now delighted to announce that we have appointed our Scottish sales outlet, Metrocab (Scotland) Limited. They are based in Edinburgh and from this new dealership will be able to offer a turnkey service for both sales, warranty, parts and servicing”.

“The relationship with our sales outlets very much mirrors what the new Metrocab Limited company is all about, vibrant, new and enthusiastic. Over the coming months, we need to take this forward as we establish ourselves in the custom built Taxi market” said Morris.

Metrocab, originally spun off from train maker Metro Cammell (now Alstom) was founded in 1993 and at its peak was producing up to a 100 taxis a month but this had been reduced to only a handful by the time production stopped in 2003 when the Tamworth based company went into administration with the loss of 100 jobs.

The restructured Metrocab company commenced producing spare parts for the aftermarket earlier this year and the restart of complete vehicle production followed, initially at the rate of one a week.
