Kyodo News said the system warns the driver through colour-coded displays on a monitor and an audio alert, allowing the driver to react more quickly to avoid collisions.
The five frequent scenarios, including a potential head-on collision at a junction with bad visibility, cover 60 percent of all traffic accidents in Japan, Nissan reportedly said, citing data from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The new car will take part in government-sponsored test driving events next week, Kyodo added.
