DaimlerChrysler has launched a new private television network “ServiceVision,” making it the first US car company to broadcast its own commercials and promotional content – combined with live news from CNN Headline News – directly to the customers in the waiting areas of dealership service centres around the country.
CNN On The Go, a Turner Private Network (TPN), produces DaimlerChrysler’s ServiceVision. Live news from CNN Headline News is combined with corporate ads, dealer customised commercials and non-commercial content. The programming is distributed by satellite to the dealerships where a local server triggers the DaimlerChrysler and dealer content to play within the live news feed.
Dealerships will air information about vehicle maintenance as well as customised sales specials for their waiting room audience. Local dealer supplied commercials, national commercials and special interest stories, such as new vehicle launches, concept vehicles and brand events will also run on the network.
ServiceVision is available to all DaimlerChrysler dealerships and has already been trialled in Detroit and Atlanta.
