Suzuki Motor on Friday said it would boost capacity at one of its Chinese joint ventures by 60% to meet growing demand.

According to Reuters, Suzuki said it would raise annual production capacity of Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki Automobile Co. to 160,000 units from 100,000 by integrating an affiliate plant.
The venture, in which Suzuki holds a 45.4% stake, produces vehicles such as the Wagon R Wide, and it plans to manufacture the new Aerio car, the report added.
A Suzuki spokesman told Reuters the company will have a total annual capacity of 260,000 units in China.
