It has been reported in the German media that Volkswagen might decide to start distributing a low-price Brazilian or Chinese model in western Europe from 2008 onwards.

Mr Bode confirmed, however, that Volkswagen intends to start selling a modified version of its Fox model in Europe next spring for less than 10,000 euros. The model is currently sold for around 5,500 euros in Brazil. Company chairman Bernd Pischetsrieder had announced last month that the Europeanised Fox would cost between 8,000 euros and 10,000 euros.
