He will report to Mark Fields, executive vice president, Premier Automotive Group and Steve Biegun, vice president, international governmental affairs.
Succeeding Greenwell is Geoff Polites, who is appointed chief executive officer, Jaguar and Land Rover, also from September 1. Polites previously ran Ford Australia and is currently Ford of Europe’s vice president, marketing, sales and service.
Polites, whose successor will be named at a later date, will report to Fields.
Fredrik Arp has been named a vice president of Ford, effective September 1, 2005. Last month, Arp’s appointment as president and chief executive officer of Volvo Cars, reporting to Fields, was announced. He succeeds Hans-Olov Olsson, who will become Volvo Cars’ chairman. Arp is presently president and CEO of Trelleborg AB, a Sweden-based global auto industry supplier specialising in advanced polymer technologies.
In another related appointment, Ford also announced that Bennie Fowler is moving to Dearborn to become vice president, advanced manufacturing engineering, the Americas, effective August 1. Fowler, currently chief operating officer, Jaguar and Land Rover, succeeds Al Ver, who was recently appointed chief executive officer and chief operating officer of the new business entity Ford is planning to form later this year, which will assume control of 24 plants and facilities being transferred from Visteon Corp. In his new role, Fowler will report to Roman Krygier, group vice president, global manufacturing.
