It said a petition for import eligibility has been granted by the United States Department of Transportation for the 2005 Smart Car Fortwo Coupe & Cabriolet.
It recently announced first deliveries of cars it had ‘Americanized’ to dealers in eight states, and is beginning to distribute the cars through a dealer network it is forming in the US to specialise in advanced automotive technologies.
