IT jobs accounted for a 6.81% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations leads by classification in October 2022

Miscellaneous Computer Occupations Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 31.82% in October 2022, a 133.33% rise over the previous month. Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers came in next, claiming a share of 27.27% in October 2022, marking a 33.33% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 22.73% in October 2022, a 44.44% drop from September 2022.

Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 9.09% in October 2022, a 50% decline over the previous month.

Top five auto companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 137.5% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s auto industry during October 2022 over previous month.

Porsche Automobil Holding posted 7 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 250% over the previous month, followed by Marcopolo with 4 jobs and a 300% growth. AB Volvo with 4 IT jobs and General Motors with 3 jobs, recorded a 33.33% rise and a 50% rise, respectively, while Nissan Motor recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during October 2022.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 90.91% share in October 2022, a 13.04% decrease over September 2022. Argentina featured next with a 4.55% share, flat growth over the previous month. Colombia recorded a 4.55% share, a flat growth compared with September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 86.36%, down by 20.83% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 9.09% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.55% share, down 66.67% over September 2022.
