Francesco Ciancia (48), previously head of manufacturing for low-mid segment for Stellantis Europe Region, is now head of Mercedes‑Benz Vans Operations.

Ciancia replaces Ingo Ettischer who leaves M-B “at his own request” on 31 December “to dedicate himself to a new task”.

“Ciancia “is as an internationally experienced production manager and his expertise in high performance manufacturing will allow us to raise productivity and further accelerate the electric transformation of the van division,” said Mathias Geisen, head of Mercedes‑Benz Vans.

Ciancia has over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and was responsible for nine factories at Stellantis. Previously, he held various management posts at Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) including head of manufacturing of EMEA premium brands and head of manufacturing Latin America.

Mercedes‑Benz Vans has production sites in Germany, Spain, US, Argentina and partners in China and plans another plant in central/eastern Europe.
