Germany-based company Continental’s IT hiring rose 4.8% in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 3.42% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 16.45% share in the company’s total hiring activity in July 2022, and recorded a 0.55% growth over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Continental IT hiring in July 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Continental, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 62.63% in July 2022, and a 55.6% drop over June 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 18.95% in July 2022, and registered a decline of 45.45%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10% in July 2022, an 18.75% rise from June 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at Continental

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global auto IT hiring activity in July 2022 with a 64.74% share, which marked a 50% drop over the previous month.

North America stood next with 20%, registering a 2.56% month-on-month decline. Asia-Pacific was the third leading region with a 13.68% share and a 67.9% drop over June 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.05% and a month-on-month increase of 100%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.53%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

Romania commanded a leading presence in the region’s auto industry IT hiring activity with a 25.26% share in July 2022, a 66.43% decline over June 2022. Germany featured next with a 23.68% share, down 30.77% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 10.53% share, a decline of 4.76% compared with June 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead Continental IT hiring activity in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 70%, down by 45.49% from June 2022. Entry Level positions with a 20.53% share, a decline of 57.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 9.47% share, down 43.75% over June 2022.
