The company has specialised in trucks, buses and special purpose vehicles but now has a much greater involvement in the passenger car sector, an extensive powertrain test capability and provides technical services to international tier one suppliers.
With over US$9 million invested in recent years in developing its technical capabilities, LTC has seen its annual sales grow to more than $14 million with an increasing international involvement.
“It is now apparent that to maintain the outstanding track record of growth and investment there is a need for substantial reorganisation of the business to give a sharper focus for the various activities as well as providing a closer service to an expanding international customer base,” it said in a statement.
Existing activities will be re-grouped under four distinct divisions supported by sales representation in Europe (UK, France, Germany and Hungary) as well as in India and Korea and co-ordinated under the newly named company – Mi Technology Group.
The four divisions now are LTC, specialising in interior, chassis, body and whole vehicle testing; Mi Powertrain, focused on engine, gearbox, driveshaft, axle and exhaust systems testing; Mi Technik for vehicle track testing; and Leyland Consulting, providing engineering support for truck and bus development.
