LDV spokesperson Alisan Foo told just-auto that the factory had stopped production 10 days ago but it would resume in the next few days.
The company, which employs 1,000 people, said in a statement it is seeking a re-financing package aimed at funding its new Maxus van model programme.
LDV also said production was halted in order to rebalance vehicle stocks, complete sold customer orders, refurbish vehicles and upgrade skills training through its Automotive Academy.
It plans to announce further details about potential investors later this week.
