Peugeot’s versatile multi-purpose people carrier, the 806, is now available with an automatic 4-speed Tiptronic transmission.
It is offered as an option across the range of LX, GLX and GTX badged models and will be mated to Peugeot’s new 2.0 litre, 16 valve, 139 bhp, petrol engine known as the EW10J4 16.

The new engine, which is quicker, 11% more economical and produces less CO2 than the unit it replaces can also be equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
This combination increases the top speed by 6 mph to 116 mph and cuts the acceleration time from 0 – 62 mph to 11.9 seconds, a gain of almost 3 seconds over the previous engine.
Fuel consumption too, is significantly improved boosting the urban drive cycle to 23 mpg, extra urban to 38.2 mpg, giving a combined figure of 30.7 mpg. The emission of CO2 is reduced to 221 g/km.

Main changes include the fitting of either a single or multi CD player as standard and cruise control to HDi diesel models.
LX models also gain rake adjustable rear seats, courtesy light delay, oil level gauge and sunglasses holder.
Two new colours, Cypress Green and China Blue, are introduced adding to the appeal and variety of the 806 range.
Prices
Price increases are limited to £230 on the GLX and GTX models but there is no price change to the LX models.
The autoadaptive gearbox with Tiptronic selection is available as a £1000 option.
The 806 range starts at £17,390 on the road for the 2-litre manual rising to £21,650 for the 110 bhp HDi diesel.
