Chery Automobile said it exported 118,743 vehicles in the first half of 2021, an increase of 168.4% year on year over Covid-hit H1 2020.
Export volume in the first six months exceeded that of the whole of 2020, unsurprisingly.

Chery has 100% automation in its stamping shop which has 2400- and 2500-ton large-scale presses. The production line enables seamless switching between steel and aluminum and takes only three seconds to produce a single component.
The welding shop has an automatic flexible welding production line built by Korea’s Yuxin. A hundred automatic welding robots were developed independently by Chery and ABB Robotics. Here there is also 100% automation and each auto body welding process is completed within two minutes on average.
In the paint shop, the body is painted using Duerr’s ECO-RP6-F paint robot, and each unit is equipped with an EMOS human machine interface system which also allows a 100% automation rate for exterior painting processes.
Over 90% of equipment in the final assembly shop is intelligent.
Earlier this year, Chery launched new generation Pro models in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait and will introduce the entire model range to Iraq next September.
