Visteon Corporation’s new chief financial officer George Strickler has resigned from the post less than two weeks after the appointment was announced and before he was due to start the job on December 1, Automotive News reported.

The newspaper said outgoing CFO Daniel Coulson, who was to retire, has agreed to remain on an interim basis.


Automotive News noted that Strickler’s appointment was praised on Wall Street after he resigned from BorgWarner to take the Visteon job.


A Visteon spokeswoman told the paper that Strickler withdrew from the post for personal reasons unrelated to the company.
