Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) has announced that sale of the European-specification i-MiEV electric vehicle is to start in 15 European countries – Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

 MMC began production of i-MiEVs for Europe – including Peugeot iOn and Citroën C-ZERO variants built on an OEM basis – last October last year. About 2,500 units have now been shipped.

There have been requests to introduce the i-MiEV from Finland, Serbia, Turkey, and Slovenia amd MMC plans to ship units to these countries in the near future, taking the number of European countries the i-MiEV will be sold in to 19. More markets will follow.
