Renault-Nissan Alliance is looking for more local suppliers to support its Samsung unit operations in South Korea.
Its annual supplier conference last week was held in Seoul, rather than at the carmakers’ headquarters in France or Japan, hinting at intentions to increase purchases from Korean parts makers, Renault Samsung executives told the Korea Herald.

The conference was led by Christian Vandenhende, head of the Renault-Nissan Purchasing Organisation.
Visiting RNPO executives also stayed in Korea for about a week to visit suppliers.
According to Renault Samsung, alliance purchases from local firms has increased rapidly in recent years rising from 32 components from 28 companies in 2009 to 377 parts produced by 82 companies last year.
