New vehicle sales in Thailand rose by 45.8% to a new record high of 800,367 units in 2010, from 548,871 units sold a year earlier, according to data released by the Federation of Thai Industries.
FTI spokesman Surapong Paisitpattanapong said vehicle exports rose by 67.3% to 895,855 units – their highest level since the country began CBU exports in 1988. The total value of these exports was THB404.7bn (US$13.3bn).

Overall vehicle output rose by 64.6% to 1,645,304 units.
