Suzuki Motor Corporation booked nine-month operating income of JPY92.5bn (up JPY42.7bn), ordinary income of JPY106.5bn (up JPY48.7bn), and net income of JPY42.6bn (up JPY27.1bn) as a sales increase to JPY1.93 trillion and cost reductions offset income reduced by currency exchange and expense rises.
The Group achieved sales of automobiles in Japan and of automobiles and motorcycles rose in Asia while North American and European sales were lower.

Automobile segment overall sales volume rose 14% to 1.94m units with revenue up to JPY1,722bn. Operating income rose to ¥91.6bn (up ¥35.7bn) owing to the launch of the new Swift, strengthened sales netowrk in Japan and an increase in Asian emerging countries such as India and Indonesia.
