Toyota Motor Corp. has adjusted upward its 2000 auto production plan by 140,000 units to about 5,150,000 units.
That follows increased sales in overseas markets in the first half of this year. Most of the extra output of 140,000 units will be sold in the overseas markets, Toyota said in a statement.

Of the 140,000 extra production, 100,000 units will be made in Japan, with the rest 40,000 to be produced in Toyota’s overseas plants, it said.
Although Toyota’s overseas sales have increased, the company did not adjust up its domestic sales forecast.
