Perfect timing for Mr Zetsche. In the week that George Bush says the US needs to do something about its 'addiction' to oil, Dieter pops up at a conference to point out that diesel can help. Someone has even helpfully worked out that there could potentially be a fuel saving equivalent to what the US currently imports from Saudi. Obviously, someone at DC has been getting pretty creative with stats and that is one stat that jumps off the page, if it is indeed true.
