Tis the season for tie-ups apparently. Fiat and Suzuki working on an SUV (a source in the industry says it could be a new platform for the Ignis/Gringo 4WD to replace the Panda 4x4). Getrag, DANA and Volvo Car getting together on an AWD components facility. And Subaru and Saab possibly combining to develop new products - like maybe a small sports car. Perhaps that's the way forward for Saab, but I'm surprised a GM platform cannot be found for them. Maybe these tough times we live in are forcing companies to look even more seriously at collaborative strategies and perhaps there's more to come.
