Blog: Dave LeggettMobile phone use while driving

Here in Britain it will be illegal to use a hand-held cell phone while driving from December 1st. Offenders will be fined and receive three points on their licence (accumulate twelve and you're banned). It's about time. I've been guilty myself of this offence in the past, but some people are better at 'multi-tasking' than others and I agree with tightening up the law. I've lost count of the number of people I've seen weaving around erratically, driving much too slowly or simply immobilised at a junction, because they're busy gassing on their phones. Three points for them is probably fair justice. Rocket propelled grenades would perhaps be a little harsh.
