Great pictures today in one of the UK dailies showing how much some of north east Japan's earthquake zone has been cleaned up in the six months since the disaster.

There's a long way between clean-up and rebuild but the rate of progress is impressive. And surely the automakers, especially those with a decent minicar line, will get some incremental sales from replacements.

In the two photos showing wrecked cars, spot the A-class Mercedes and Mini in amongst all the domestics. Yeah, I know, I should get out more...
