Blog: Dave LeggettHonda FR-V

Dave Leggett | 18 October 2004

After what seems like an eternity chained to my desk, I'm getting out tomorrow. Honda is taking me down to Jerez in southern Spain to try out the new FR-V, yet another small minivan. That is becoming a very competitive market niche now, as the makers have really piled in with product. This one is on the CR-V platform (yes, it's a truck, but a pretty car-like truck) and has a Fiat Multipla-style 3+3 seating layout - which marks it out as a little bit unusual.

Southern Spain is nice for driving although a quick look at the weather forecast says tomorrow will be overcast and just 24 degrees C (still ten degrees warmer than here though). I don't do many of these quick jaunts but occasionally it's good to get along, evaluate new products and hear the latest word on the street. Hopefully, I'll be able to have a good drive, a dip in the hotel pool and squeeze in a few glasses of the local sherry. It would be rude not to.
