Yesterday was not a great day for The General. Red ink all over the shop. Our man Mr Golding provided some wry observations.

Rob's piece had me thinking. There are some unenviable tasks in life that are just plain difficult to pull off, however clever or competent you may be.  

Whichever way you look at it, it's a bum hand. No way out.

For Fritz Henderson, presenting GM's 2005 'highlights' slide at the financial results conference yesterday probably falls into that category.
