Blog: Dave LeggettChevrolet Montana (Corsa-based pick-up)

Dave Leggett | 2 September 2003

Our man in Rio - Rogerio Louro - has filed an interesting item about a next generation Corsa-based pick-up for the Brazilian market that will be on sale in October. The new model will be called the Chevrolet Montana and has been designed by GM's Brazilian design centre. I must say I'm impressed with the way it looks. It will also be fitted with GM do Brasil's flexfuel system - the engine runs on petrol, alcohol or a blend of the two (see the just-auto 'flexpower' feature). There's some good work going on down there, in spite of the economic and commercial challenges that the region's automaker's face. I wonder if the Montana could be easily adapted for export markets beyond South America. The cheap Brazilian currency makes it at least worth thinking about.
