Blog: Glenn BrooksBMW readies its Zinoro EV brand

Glenn Brooks | 30 October 2013

Remember Zinoro, the brand name which BMW and Brilliance announced at April's Shanghai motor show? Since then we haven't heard much about the project from the JV partners. That looks like it's about to change.

This website has now appeared. Word is, the first model will be built at the Tiexi plant in Shenyang from 2014. The model name will reportedly be 1E, with the vehicle to be more or less a plug-in version of the X1, albeit with new grille and other details. There won't be any BMW badges on it, though. When we will see the 1E? Perhaps as soon as next month's Guangzhou motor show.
