US: Honda considers Fit production in US

By just-auto.com editorial team | 20 November 2008

Honda is considering a plan to make its top selling Fit (Jazz) model in the US.

The car is currently built in Japan and shipped to the US, but it is in short supply and the firm is having difficulty meeting dealer orders.

Small cars like Honda's Fit continue to sell well in the US, after surging when oil prices rose earlier in the year.

Cumulative sales of the Fit in the US in the first ten months of the year reached 69,846 units, some 52% up on last year.
