The introduction of LTI Vehicles' new TX4 low emission London taxi in October boosted sales 68.4% year on year in November.

362 new taxis were delivered to UK customers last month.

Coventry-based LTI has sold 2,387 'London style taxis' in the UK so far this year, an increase of 3% over the same period last year.

Matthew Cheyne, sales and marketing director for LTI Vehicles said: "Advance orders for our new TX4 purpose built taxi are running at record levels at home and abroad. The first left hand drive versions are already on their way to such diverse export markets as Turkey, Norway and Trinidad."

The latest model has a Euro IV-compliant lower emission VM Motori diesel engine, the addition of ABS braking and detail specification changes.

A new grille is the main recognition point.
