JAPAN: Webasto makes switch to Korean sunroof glass

By just-auto.com editorial team | 20 December 2001

Webasto Japan is buying sunroof glass from Saint-Gobain's Korean operation, saying that it is superior in percolation (below 10 percent) and features light shielding that can reduce temperatures inside a vehicle.

Webasto also plans to reduce costs by exporting directly from Korea where labour costs are lower.

Webasto Japan has previously used Japanese glass specified by Japanese vehicle makers but is now encouraging them to switch to the French manufacturer's Korean-made automotive glass.
