Nissan Motor's cost-cutting policy has come under fire from a leading official of Japan's auto parts industry body Thursday (7/12/00), says Kyodo News.

Kazunori Shibasaki - vice chairman of the Japan Auto Parts Industries Association -says that Nissan's cost-cutting plan is having a negative effect on the profit of member companies.

Mr Shibasaki also said that Nissan's procurement cost cutbacks are causing problems for the management of auto-component makers.
