French car-maker Peugeot is to upgrade its office in Mexico to a subsidiary next year, writes Reforma/Infolatina (28/11/00).

Peugeot is reportedly grooming a team of managers in Chile to run this new subsidiary.

The company is also considering building a production facility in Mexico, with either San Luis Potosi or Monterrey reportedly being looked at as possible sites.

All of Peugeot's vehicles currently sold in Mexico are imported from Chile, says Reforma/Infolatina.
