BRAZIL: Renault production estimates up 42% y/y

Renault
is expanding its production capacity in Brazil and expects to build 102,000 vehicles
this year, 42 percent more than in 1999.
The French company builds the Scenic, Novo Clio, and Clio sedan at its plant in Sao Jose dos Pinhais, Parana state.
In December, the company will open a new ($US30 million) stamping plant that
will increase local content beyond the current 80 percent.
