Hella invests in Lippstadt headquarters expansion

Hella is constructing a new visitor, administrative and exhibition centre near its company headquarters and is outlining an urban planning competition for the future use of the former Steinstrasse company premises.

"With its 125 locations and some 40,000 employees, Hella is already positioned globally today," said Hella CEO, Rolf Breidenbach. "This international network will continue to grow.

"The importance of our Lippstadt headquarters as control centre for the global Hella network and its respective responsibilities will therefore further increase. We must also create the spatial prerequisites to this end."

The new visitor, administrative and exhibition centre will be constructed as extension to the Hella Globe along the Rixbecker Strasse in Lippstadt.

With its new building, housing mostly company functions with many visitors, Hella will continue the further development and modernisation of the company headquarters. The construction measures for the new visitor, administrative and exhibition centre are scheduled to start in the summer of next year, while opening is anticipated for mid-2019.

The new Hella building complex will simultaneously close an urban planning gap on one of the most-frequented streets in Lippstadt. The existing buildings on the Rixbecker Strasse premises will therefore give way to the construction project.

In the context of the further construction developments at the Hella headquarters, planning is also under way to transform the 50,000 sq m of the former company premises by the headquarters into a mixed-use urban neighbourhood, in close collaboration with the city of Lippstadt.
