Volkswagen's passenger cars brand recorded an increase in worldwide deliveries last month compared with the previous year, with 533,500 vehicles handed over, up 7.5%.

A total of 5.4m vehicles were delivered from January to November, 1.6% up on the previous year. "China continued to drive the positive trend in November," said Volkswagen Brand Sales board member, Jürgen Stackmann,

"There was also positive momentum on some markets in Western Europe, the US, and India. Given the current challenging market environment, a 7.5% increase is a respectable result. The Volkswagen brand is on the right track and will end 2016 on a high note."
