Post-Geneva, there was no shortage of auto industry happenings this week.

Our in-house analysts were again hard at it as Our Man in Brazil mulled the implications of the latest auto pact finally inked between his country and Mexico. And Our Man in Indonesia looked closely at General Motors', ahem, "latest" retreat from his country. Both articles are well worth a read.

Our suppliers expert, Simon Warburton, reported on Pirelli and its battle for European market share as well as the inroads India's Apollo Tyres is making in this region. Still on suppliers, Michelin is increasing tyre output in Hungary.

We also learned that more Toyota Europe diesels are now 'powered by BMW'.

Finally, I had the chance to meet Mazda's redesigned 2 (Demio in Japan), now sourced for the UK from Thailand while Europe's left hookers come from the new Mexican factory.

Have a nice weekend.
