CZECH REPUBLIC: Škoda Auto starts production of Superb Estate

The first Škoda Superb Estate has rolled off the production line in Kvasiny, Czech Republic.

Škoda says that the most luxurious estate car yet to wear the Škoda badge offers a 'class-leading load volume of up to 1,865 litres (633 litres with the rear seats up)'. 

It comes with a choice of three petrol and three diesel engines will be available in the Superb Estate, plus manual and DSG transmissions - the same engine range as is available in the hatch (launched September 2008). 

The Superb Estate is 4,838 mm long, 1,817 wide and 1,510 high - the most spacious and practical car in the upper-medium segment,  Škoda claims. 

Worldwide, Škoda has delivered 33,434 Superbs to customers from January through to October this year - 78% more than it had sold over the same period last year.

Production has begun with left-hand drive vehicles and right-hand drive production will follow in January 2010.
