Roof systems supplier Webasto has been named a core supplier by the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group.

"We want to become an even more global business", said the automaker's director of strategy and supplier relationship, Bernard Brasey. "In order to achieve our international expansion objective, we need suppliers who work closely with us in all these markets."

The Webasto site at Les Châtelliers-Châteaumur specialises in the development and production of sunroofs, shading systems and convertible roofs. It supplies parts for the 208, 3008, 5008, DS5, C5 and 508 and will soon add the folding roof of the DS3 convertible.

"With our international footprint and the leading technology portfolio of different roof systems we are well positioned to support the PSA strategy to expand internationally. Especially in markets like China, where roof systems are a key element in nearly every car, we have more than 10 years of experience."

"The key criteria for PSA Peugeot Citroën to award Webasto Group are the technical and industrial excellence, in combination with a high level of collaboration and trust, which is very much appreciated by the PSA Group," the automaker said.

"For many years, Webasto was also able to strengthen its research and development capacity to support and to move forward PSA Peugeot Citroën in its new projects."
