Previous chief Mark McNabb is leaving for unspecified reasons.

The former VoA COO started Electrify America last year and navigated Electrify the diesel settlement agreements and implementation.

Palazzo starts later this year. Jan Vycital, CFO, Electrify America and Volkswagen Group of America, will act as interim CEO along with his current duties.

Electrify America last month said it would install vehicle chargers at more than 100 retail, convenience and refuelling locations across the US.

Initial partners include major retail companies, Target, Brixmor Property Group, Kimco Realty and DDR. In addition to these will be convenience and refuelling partners such as Sheetz, Casey's General Stores and Global Partners LP's Alltown.

These chargers are part of the first US$500m Cycle 1 investment in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, education and access in the US.
