In a total market down 6.4 per cent, a best ever July sales result has been posted by Škoda Auto; a scale-topping 100.4 per cent up on July 1999 figures. A total of 2663 customers took delivery of new Škoda cars around the country, giving the brand a significant 1.7 per cent market share. Star performers were unsurprisingly the Fabia, Car of the Year 2000, with runaway sales of 1203 units, followed closely by the Octavia with 935 sales and more than three times the total for the same period last year. The remainder is made up of Škoda's stalwart Felicia, with 525 sales.
