An excellent first half of 2000, shows that sales of Rolls-Royce motor cars worldwide increased by just under 12 per cent overall compared with the same period last year. North America and most of Europe showed big gains 16 per cent and 44 per cent respectively.

"The launch of the beautiful new Rolls-Royce Corniche earlier this year and the announcement of the Park Ward saloon at the Geneva Motor Show in March have boosted sales in most markets and in particular in North America, with Corniche sold out in production through November this year," commented Chief Executive Tony Gott.

"We are continuing our careful stewardship of Rolls-Royce and we are confident that we shall maintain the excellent sales progress we have achieved so far this year," he added.
