Russian tyre producer Nizhnekamskshina has said that it produced 1.505m tyres in the first quarter of this year, a drop of 48.5% on the same period of last year.
It said that car tyre output dropped 39.4% on the year to 1.078m units.
Nizhnekamskshina had to suspend production in January as its major customers - AvtoVAZ, GAZ, Kamaz, and IzhAvto - suspended their production in the period, according to earlier reports.

Nizhnekamskshina resumed production on January 26.

Russia's vehicle market has slumped this year as the economic crisis has intensified and some forecasts suggests that it could drop by more than 50% this year.
