Nissan Motor is recalling around 643,000 Rogue SUVs in the US over powertrain issues, according to the country’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The regulator confirmed that the Japanese automaker is issuing two separate recalls involving the same model, to remedy faults that could lead to a loss of power and possible engine fires.
One of the recalls affects 319,000 vehicles, due to the risk of throttle-body gear breakage. The other recall, affecting 324,000 vehicles, is due to possible engine bearing damage, which could cause hot oil leakage leading to a loss of power and a risk of engine fire.
